Blepharoplasty - Upper and Lower

Eyelid surgery improves the aged appearance caused by droopy eyelids and puffiness. The procedure may be done on the upper or lower eyelids or both and involves removing excess fat, muscle, and skin to reveal a more refreshed, younger, and well-rested expression.

Eyelid surgery is commonly performed alone or along with many other surgical procedures we offer at Kim Facial Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Kim performed thousands of Blepharo-

plasty surgeries and is an expert in this field.

Procedures

Upper Eyelid Surgery

In upper eyelid surgery involves making an incision in the natural fold of the upper eyelid, removing excess fat, muscle and loose skin, and fine suturing to minimize scar visibility. These sutures are removed in 7 days.

Lower Eyelid Surgery

In lower eyelid surgery, an incision is either made along the lash line on the outside of the lower eyelids or inside the lower lids. Excess fat, muscle, and skin are removed followed by fine suturing. The sutures in this case are self-dissolving and scarring is very minimal.

These procedures are performed in our state-of-the-art surgical suite in our office. Local anesthesia with twilight sedation is administered so that the patients are relaxed and comfortable.

Post Treatment

After surgery, it is important to use ice cold packs on the eyes for the first 24 hours. It is common to experience swelling and bruising. Patients may wash the face after 48 hours from surgery. Patients will take oral antibiotics and apply ointment to keep the eyes moist and clean. Patients return in one week to remove sutures.
