It is imperative to follow Dr. Kim’s recommendations after surgery to optimize and maintain the desired results of your procedure. Downtime and proper wound-care instruction will vary depending on the severity of the procedure. For the most part, cold compresses, head elevation, and mild pain medication will alleviate any pain or discomfort experienced immediately following surgery. Though your new look is lasting, the aging process will continue to occur.
Incorporating the following recommendations will help prolong your youthful appearance:

• Avoid sun exposure and wear sunscreen daily

• Avoid smoking two weeks prior & two weeks following surgery (preferably giving it up all together)

• Eat a nutritious diet with plenty of vegetables and fruit

• Drink ample amounts of water each day

• Engage in moderate exercise at least four times a week

• Get an average of eight hours sleep a night
