How Fraxel® Laser Treatment works

In his state-of-the-art office, Dr. Kim offers noninvasive procedures that can rapidly deliver a more youthful you. The Fraxel® Laser Treatment is one such treatment. It corrects damaged skin with very little downtime.

How it works
This state of the art, laser resurfacing treatment creates thousands of minute but deeply penetrating pores, known as microscopic zones, in your skin. This treatment gets rid of damaged epidermal pigmented cells. While it goes down into the depths of the dermis, it leaves healthy skin layers untouched and completely intact. This "fractional" or partial targeting of the skin leads to faster healing time—much quicker than if all areas were treated exactly alike. The body uses it natural processes to create more youthful taut skin that replaces the earlier imperfections.

What it treats
The Fraxel® Laser has received FDA clearance to treat the following conditions:
  • Wrinkles.
  • Age Spots or Sun Spots
  • Roughness (texture)
  • Melasma (patches of brown skin)
